João Francisco Naves da Fonseca
João received his law degree in 2006 from the University of São Paulo Law School. He then went on to earn an LL.M. and doctorate in civil procedural law from the same school. He is the author of the books “Exame dos fatos nos recursos extraordinário e especial”, Saraiva, 2012 (“Examination of the facts in extraordinary and special appeals”), “O processo do mandado de injunção”, Saraiva, 2016 (“Writ of injuction”), “Comentários ao Código de Processo Civil”, vol. IX, Saraiva, 2017 (“Comments on the Civil Procedure Code”), “Código de Processo Civil e legislação processual em vigor”, Saraiva, 50th ed., 2019 – in collaboration with Theotonio Negrão, José Roberto Ferreira Gouvêa and Luis Guilherme Aidar Bondioli (“Civil Procedure Code and procedural legislation in force”) and “Código Civil e legislação civil em Vigor”, 37th ed., 2019 – in collaboration with Theotonio Negrão, José Roberto Ferreira Gouvêa and Luis Guilherme Aidar Bondioli (“Civil Code and civil legislation in force”). He also is the author of many articles published in specialized periodicals and collective works, and has served as a visiting professor in postgraduate courses. He is a member of the Brazilian Institute of Procedural Law.
