João Francisco Naves da Fonseca
João received his law degree in 2006 from the University of São Paulo Law School (USP). He then went on to earn an LL.M. and doctorate in civil procedural law from the same school. He is the author of the books “Exame dos fatos nos recursos extraordinário e especial”, Saraiva, 2012 (“Examination of the facts in extraordinary and special appeals”), “O processo do mandado de injunção”, Saraiva, 2016 (“Writ of injuction”), “Comentários ao Código de Processo Civil”, vol. IX, Saraiva, 2017 (“Comments on the Civil Procedure Code”), “Código de Processo Civil e legislação processual em vigor”, Saraiva, 50th ed., 2019 – with Theotonio Negrão, José Roberto Ferreira Gouvêa and Luis Guilherme Aidar Bondioli (“Civil Procedure Code and procedural legislation in force”) and “Código Civil e legislação civil em Vigor”, 37th ed., 2019 – with Theotonio Negrão, José Roberto Ferreira Gouvêa and Luis Guilherme Aidar Bondioli (“Civil Code and civil legislation in force”). He also has served as a visiting professor in postgraduate courses. Participated in an Advanced Arbitration Course conducted by the São Paulo Lawyers Association (AASP). He is member of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) and of the Brazilian Institute of Procedural Law (IBDP). Arbitrator at the Arbitration Council of the State of São Paulo (CAESP) and at the Specialized Arbitration and Mediation Chamber (CAMES).
